High-Energy Braking & Motion Control

AvCarb’s woven carbon fabrics are the industry standard for high-performance wet friction. Used in aircraft brakes and heavy-duty military vehicle transmissions, our materials provide a stable coefficient of friction and exceptional wear resistance under intense kinetic energy loads.

Thermal Protection Systems (TPS)

Leveraging our legacy in reentry shielding, we provide carbon felts and papers that offer superior insulation for aerospace components exposed to high-temperature gradients, protecting sensitive electronics and structural airframes.

Tuned Electrical Conductivity/Resistance (TECR)

AvCarb can provide PAN based carbon fibers with specific electrical resistivities between 10+6 to 10-3 ohm-cm. These tailored resistance fibers have been incorporated as chopped fibers into sprayable coatings, thermoplastic compounds, or into various web formats (woven and nonwoven) to provide consistent & repeatable electrical properties for composite parts used in aerospace and industrial applications.

UAV & Portable Power (Fuel Cells)
